The Lilly-Purdue 360 Initiative is rooted in the premise that cross-functional teams from Purdue engaged in team science with Lilly researchers to generate impactful innovations throughout the drug pipeline from drug discovery, research and development, and manufacturing to ultimately produce medicines that improve patient lives.

How it Works

The initiative is driven by Lilly's strategic priorities and matching those with Purdue expertise. Purdue and Lilly review priorities on a bi-annual basis (late Spring and Fall) and set future directions, which can include existing program pivots, inclusion of new workstreams, or sunset a program. Based on these engagements, Purdue may solicit input from faculty on their areas of expertise if it aligns with Lilly's needs.

The Lilly Purdue Innovation Institute (LPII) administers the Lilly Purdue 360 Initiative. Leadership will solicit faculty input on current and future areas of interest through a traditional call for proposal mechanism. Outside of this call, faculty can submit white papers for general review through this form, noting that these will not be funded outside of the Spring/Fall timeline stated above. If a faculty member has a project outside of one of Lilly's thematic priorities, please connect with Purdue's Office of Industry Partnerships to leverage other connections at Eli Lilly.
