Lilly Purdue 360
In 2025 Lilly announced investments of up to $250 million through the Lilly-Purdue 360 Initiative, with a mission of accelerating innovation in drug discovery, AI-driven research, and scalable manufacturing. The initiative enables strategic collaboration across research, talent development, and workforce enablement and leverages the successful relationship between Purdue and Lilly dating back to the organization's founding years.

The Goal
The Lilly-Purdue 360 Initiative aims to achieve several key goals, including discovering and accelerating the delivery of medicines to patients; bridging the gap between laboratory discoveries and clinical applications; creating more resilient, efficient and sustainable supply chains; and deploying innovative, scalable approaches to workforce development. The expanded collaboration is also expected to generate significant economic benefits for Indiana by creating a highly skilled workforce and fostering local innovation.
Priority Areas
Discovery
Integrating scientific discovery with digital technologies to automate and re-invent the drug discovery process, all focused on the discovery of the next generation of therapeutics.
Product R&D
There is a singular focus on translational research. Interest is in developing novel approaches to increase the efficiency, decrease the risk, and minimize the time for new therapeutic candidates to transit from pre-clinical and clinical studies to being approved products for patients.
Manufacturing
Production focused on efficiency, aseptic processing, automation, and sustainability in the pharmaceutical industry.
Talent
Focus is on improving the skill set for the students at Purdue to prepare them for the rapidly changing landscape of innovation in the pharmaceutical ecosystem. Interest in leveraging Purdue's strengths to upskill Lilly's workforce to stay on the cutting edge.
